Applications

For Radiant Heating & Cooling Systems

Zehnder Rittling engineers can custom-build heating and cooling equipment for virtually any mechanical specification or architectural requirement. The result of more than a half century of forward thinking, smart management and cost-saving innovation, Zehnder Rittling’s products represent a triumph of modern engineering and a perpetual desire to break new ground.

Zehnder Rittling’s commitment to design innovation and its unlimited custom engineering capabilities have resulted in a constantly expanding product offering making us the perfect fit for all of your indoor climate needs. Our diversity and flexibility have removed the constraints of designing around limited catalog selections, allowing architects and engineers the freedom to apply standard HVAC products in extraordinary ways. Our philosophy continues to be, “if you can draw it, we can build it.”

Grid Radiant Panels

Lay in grid panels provide cooling and heating within a suspended ceiling application.  These panels are ideal for standard T-bar or tegular grid applications and can be easily integrated into new or existing grid systems.  Utilization of larger panel sizes in these systems can reduce installation costs compared to convention systems.

Applications

Applications include healthcare facilities, universities, educational, K-12, museums, and laboratories.

Alumline

  • Continuous copper tube with aluminum heat emissions plates
  • Widths up to 2.5’ & Lengths up to 10’
  • Lay in T-Bar or tegular edges
  • Smooth or perforated surface
  • High NRC with sound absorption insulation
  • 2 pipe with ½’’ connections
  • Integration of functional elements – lighting, fire suppression, AV, and air outlets

Carboline

  • Continuous copper tube embedded in graphite sandwich
  • Widths up to 2’ & Lengths up to 10’
  • Lay in T-Bar or tegular edges
  • Smooth or perforated surface
  • High thermal outputs
  • 2 or 4 pipe with ½’’ connections
  • Integration of functional elements – lighting, fire suppression, AV, and air outlets

Chilled Sail

Chilled Sails provide a functional, decorative and exceptional alternative to conventional radiant panels. Sails provide both the radiant cooling effects of standard radiant panels with a convective component.   In cooling mode, panels create natural convection by cooling the surrounding room air as it passes over the sail surface facing the plenum.  As the air falls into the occupied zone, where warm air is then pulled over the sail, the convective cooling capacity of the sail is combined with the radiant cooling capacity of the cool sail surface, resulting in cooling capacity higher than that of standard radiant panels.

Applications

Applications include large open office concept/collaboration areas, conference rooms, lobbies, and classrooms.

Characteristics

  • Widths up to 4’
  • Lengths up to 12’
  • ½’’ coil connections
  • Gaps vary from ½’’ – 1’’
  • Smooth or castellated surface

Cloud/Free Hanging Radiant Panels

Free hanging or cloud radiant panels can be easily integrated into the building architectural particularly in open ceiling spaces.  These decorative panels provide high thermal outputs in cooling and heating modes along with exceptional sound absorption characteristics.  Standard finished edge construction allows these panels to be installed in single panel configurations or multiple panel groupings.
