Summer Employment Opportunities

Position Summary:

We will have several full-time and part-time positions available from mid-May to mid-August at manufacturing facility in South Buffalo. Zehnder Rittling is a leader in the design and manufacturing of heating and cooling systems. We are looking for high energy, team oriented students, teachers and others who are looking for summer employment.

Product/Sales Engineer

Position Summary:

This position will serve as the Product Engineer and Inside Sales Engineer for all products (ie Radiant and Induction) within the Zehnder Engineered Ceiling Solutions segment. The primary role of the position is to become “the subject matter expert” within the Engineered Ceiling Solutions group of products for Product Engineering, Applications, Design / Design support, and Sales team. In addition, the position will require working directly with external customers on new projects and providing detailed project packages including; quotations, submittals, equipment schedules, shop drawings, product detail drawings and written specifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering, Purchasing, and Product Design to create part numbers and descriptions for the transition of products into MFG pro (Enterprise System).
  • Create and review BOMs for new orders and current products
  • Support product configurator updates
  • Update and create 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks / PDM
  • Use SolidWorks simulation software for the product design to meet customer requirements, calculate capacity, and airflow.
  • Interpret and understand HVAC building plans
  • Execute building plan takeoffs to create equipment schedules, quotations, specifications and full project submittal packages
  • Utilize selection software to provide unit performance and selections
  • Provide technical assistance to customers through general product questions as well troubleshooting concerns
  • Utilize AutoCAD to layout Zehnder engineered ceiling system products on reflected ceiling plans, coordinating with building and system designs provided by our MEP consulting partners
  • Identify trade conflicts or design issues and suggest alternative solutions as required to complete mechanical plans 
  • Assist with internal project management of production orders; coordinating quantity takeoffs with manufacturing, unique tagging and production release schedules to meet jobsite coordination needs.
  • Participate in internal projects related to new product design, cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and Solid works
  • Understanding of MRP systems
  • Experienced with Bill of Material creation and review
  • General understanding of Commercial Construction and MEP Industry
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to take on individual projects
  • Ability to manage deadlines for large project milestones
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • High technical comprehension skills and ability to present ideas into easily communicated messages.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills

Computer Skills:

AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent software. Microsoft Windows Office, Word, Excel. Revit experience a plus.
