Senior Product Engineer

Position Summary:
Designs, develops, refines, and evaluates mechanical components and systems for terminal HV AC products. Uses concurrent engineering to reduce product time to market while adhering to project deadlines and product costs. Plans, executes and manages product development projects, while supporting technical aspects of product commercialization. Serves as a key technical resource within the organization for induction beams, radiant ceiling panels, hydronic heating and air filtration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Development of HVAC products from concept to production. Participation in multifunctional product development teams and liaisons with marketing for the development and specification of new concepts for HVAC products.
• Accountable for project planning and effective execution, as well as communication program status and escalating issues when appropriate.
• Evaluate and optimize concepts to meet target performance requirements, cost target, and manufacturability. Develop product designs and create prototypes from customer concepts and/or specs to test and validate ideas.
• Conduct rigorous problem solving to improve product designs, identify root cause and implement corrective action.
• Liaison with manufacturing engineers and supply chain personnel for the specification and sourcing of components and selection of suppliers.
• Communicate with suppliers, manufacturing engineering and operations to resolve issues and optimize design for manufacturability and efficiency.
• Assist end customer in resolving product related issues.
• All other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications:
• BS Engineering degree (BSME preferred)
• Minimum 5 years related HV AC design & development experience in a fast paced environment.
• Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to design/technical issues. Good instincts and sound judgment for mechanical and structural design.
• Good understanding of design/process failure mode effects analysis, design review based on failure mode (or equivalent), change management, design for manufacturing, and related quality control techniques.
• Good working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems, engineering materials and design, coating technologies and advanced manufacturing technologies. Fluency in SolidWorks a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of dimensioning and tolerances.
• Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong report writing skills.
• PC literate (word processing, spreadsheets, data base) and strong knowledge of project management tools is essential.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of time to meet suppliers and customers.

Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary:
Zehnder Rittling is hiring a full time Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join the state-of-the-art manufacturing team responsible for maintenance and repair of production equipment and metal fabrication machinery in our South Buffalo factory. Requires experience with hands-on preventative and corrective/preventative maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform both scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on all production and support equipment as needed to ensure their operation is safe and in proper operating condition.
- Diagnose issues, disassemble machines and equipment, and replace or repair parts as required.
- Coordinate schedules with machine operators and lead personnel to perform equipment maintenance, minimizing production downtime
- Assist with identifying, developing, and executing preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain records including preventative maintenance logs, inventory of machine parts, tools, maintenance supplies.
- Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, implementing of corrective and preventive actions, planning methods, and operating procedures.
- Source parts and procedures on computers or manuals as needed. Place purchase order requisitions when required.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
- Assists with the installation and set-up of new equipment
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of solid machine repair and industrial electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
- In-depth knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose machine and process problems.
- Computer skills required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Provide and maintain own set of hand tools for personal use on the job.
- Experience and familiarity with hydraulic punch presses, brakes and light fabrication, and PLC systems is preferred.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds. The majority of the workday must stand and walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crawl.
Full Time, Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 10- or 8-hour shift. Occasional OT available.
$30.00-$40.00/hour based on experience. Comprehensive benefit package including 401k company match and tuition reimbursement.

Lead Person- Shipping Department 1st Shift

Responsibilities include the coordination and participation in full operation of cell to meet production schedule and consistent with operational strategy. Leadperson must perform tasks within cell for a majority of the workday as a “hands-on:” leader. Must review daily orders and prioritize tasks taking into account customer due dates, job specifications, order balancing and resources available. Trains team members on cell responsibilities, promoting flexibility for teammates. Must set a good example for coworkers and be a person who exhibits a positive attitude toward company goals and initiatives. Must utilize various tools and equipment including manual and power tools. Must work as part of a team and assist in other areas of the company as needed.

Industrial Painter of Manufactured Parts - 1st Shift

Responsible for spray painting of parts utilizing hand-held power spraying equipment at our local manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loads paint into hoppers and calls up specific programs on manual guns and automatic system.
- Prepares paint line, loads appropriate powder coating color in equipment.
- Maintains process control to assure product finish will be within specifications.
- Assures powder application is appropriate to guarantee mil coverage.
- Monitors inventory level of paint and advises Leadperson or appropriate personnel when restocking is necessary.
- Cleans equipment, booth and surrounding area to prepare for the next application or to shut down.
- Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance activities in all other areas of department when needed.
- Works as part of the team and continuously seek to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
Qualifications include:
- Prior powder coating experience desired.
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to use small hand tools.
- Prior vocational/trade school background preferred.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements of this position include close vision. Must regularly be able to use hands to handle items.
- Must regularly stand throughout workday and reach above shoulder height. Strong arm strength needed to continuously hold and manipulate spray gun effectively.
- Must be comfortable with use of ladders/step ladders.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasionally temperatures may be in excess of 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Full Time, Day Shift, $18.00 – $21.00/hour based on experience.
