Senior Product Engineer

Position Summary:
Designs, develops, refines, and evaluates mechanical components and systems for terminal HV AC products. Uses concurrent engineering to reduce product time to market while adhering to project deadlines and product costs. Plans, executes and manages product development projects, while supporting technical aspects of product commercialization. Serves as a key technical resource within the organization for induction beams, radiant ceiling panels, hydronic heating and air filtration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Development of HV AC products from concept to production. Participation in multifunctional product development teams and liaisons with marketing for the development and specification of new concepts for HVAC products.
• Accountable for project planning and effective execution, as well as communication program status and escalating issues when appropriate.
• Evaluate and optimize concepts to meet target performance requirements, cost target, and manufacturability. Develop product designs and create prototypes from customer concepts and/or specs to test and validate ideas.
• Conduct rigorous problem solving to improve product designs, identify root cause and implement corrective action.
• Liaison with manufacturing engineers and supply chain personnel for the specification and sourcing of components and selection of suppliers.
• Communicate with suppliers, manufacturing engineering and operations to resolve issues and optimize design for manufacturability and efficiency.
• Assist end customer in resolving product related issues.
• All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:
• BS Engineering degree (BSME preferred)
• Minimum 5 years related HV AC design & development experience in a fast paced environment.
• Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to design/technical issues. Good instincts and sound judgment for mechanical and structural design.
• Good understanding of design/process failure mode effects analysis, design review based on failure mode (or equivalent), change management, design for manufacturing, and related quality control techniques.
• Good working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems, engineering materials and design, coating technologies and advanced manufacturing technologies. Fluency in SolidWorks a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of dimensioning and tolerances.
• Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong report writing skills.
• PC literate (word processing, spreadsheets, data base) and strong knowledge of project management tools is essential.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of time to meet suppliers and customers.

Director of Sales

Position Summary:

The Zehnder brand is widely respected around the world providing leading unique HVAC solutions. The Director of Sales leads the North America sales team to connect our brand to our customers through our independent sales rep network and directly. The successful candidate will operate in a highly integrated team environment with the key role of being the lead face to the customer. Taking the lead includes building long-lasting relationships where Zehnder can serve the needs of our customers. (This is a remote position.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and coordinates sales selling cycle and methodology. Evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Manages sales project pipeline.
  • Establishes and implements short and long range goals to ensure profit growth and expansion of the company products.
  • Recruits, develops, trains, manages, and evaluates staff in the sales organization including regional sales managers and independent representative network.
  • Manages the development of internal and external training material and programs.
  • Manages sales leads derived from marketing outreach and training programs.
  • Directly manages major (key) client accounts as required.
  • Identifies new marketing and product development opportunities.
  • Develops and manages sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Designs and presents training programs regarding company products/services to sales representatives and customers.
  • Monitors the market and competitor products and activities.
  • Works cohesively with other Zehnder Group companies.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience:

MBA preferred

Minimum of 5 years industry related experience in sales

Strong leadership and team building skills.

Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Marketing & business development experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

Ability to travel, approximately 25-50% of time

Work Environment:

The majority of work is performed remotely, in home office or at customer work-sites.

Computer skills:

Highly computer literate in current business software products.

Manager of Human Resources

Position Summary:

Plan, organize, and direct Human Resources functions that conform to federal, state, and local law and are consistent with the company mission. Overall responsibility to recruit, hire, and retain the highest quality workforce, from entry level through management. The scope of the job requires performing various HR related clerical and administrative functions within the company.

Zehnder Ritting is headquartered in WNY with remote sales locations in numerous states. The position requires coordination with a third party to ensure all legal requirements are met as a multi-state employer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serves as company contact regarding various legal matters regarding employment, and when appropriate represents the company with such agencies as the Department of Labor, Equal Opportunity Commission, Occupational Safety and Health
    • Builds relationships with various community organizations and helps to promote Zehnder as an “employer of choice” in the WNY area.
    • Guides the employment of a “world-class” workforce for all levels of employees, from entry level through senior management.
    • Responsible for ensuring staffing levels are maintained. Works with department heads to determine staffing needs. Initiates recruitment, interviews prospective candidates, selects candidates, extends job offers, and negotiates wage/benefits.
    • Identifies and negotiates contracts with third party staffing and recruitment services.
    • Provides leadership to employees and assists management with employee motivation efforts to enhance productivity and quality of work life.
    • Facilitates HR performance measurements, analyzes data and provides feedback and improvement recommendations to management.
    • Designs and implements personnel and administrative policies and programs consistent with company strategic goals and in line with legal requirements.
    • Directly responsible for performing and maintaining various HR related clerical and administrative functions, including, but not limited to: personnel records maintenance, payroll processing, and attendance tracking.
    • Recommend and implements compensation programs consistent with company goals.
    • Counsels with employees and provides guidance on various work-related and personal issues.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience:

Bachelor Degree in Business or related field

Minimum 5 years human resources generalist experience

Firsthand experience working in a small to mid-size manufacturing company employing a diverse workforce

Mathematical/Analytical skills:

Strong knowledge of employment law and experience dealing with various governmental agencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Computer skills:

Highly computer literate in current business software products

Starting Salary $70,000 annually
